How to clean the stainless steel chain?
Because the use of stainless steel chain can be said to be very wide, so we will produce a variety of different dirt in the process of use, so for different dirt, we can have a different way of cleaning.
dust
Fabrication is often carried out in a dusty area, and there is often a lot of dust in the air, which constantly falls on the surface of the equipment. They can be removed with water or an alkaline solution. However, the grime that has adhesion requires high-pressure water or steam to be removed.
The scratch
Mechanical cleaning of scratches and other rough surfaces is necessary to prevent the retention of process lubricants or products and/or dirt.
Rusty spot
When stainless steel chain rust, stainless steel surface deposited with dust containing other metal elements or similar metal particles of the attachment, in the humid air, the attachment and stainless steel condensate between the two together into a micro battery, triggered an electrochemical reaction, the protective film is destroyed. Rust must be removed before the equipment is put into service and thoroughly cleaned surfaces shall be inspected by iron test and/or water test.
Rough grinding and machining
Both grinding and machining can result in rough surfaces, grooves, overlaps, and burrs. Each defect may damage the metal surface to such a depth that the damaged metal surface cannot be removed by pickling, electropolishing, or shot peening. Rough surfaces can be the source of corrosion and deposition products. Rough grinding cannot be used to remove weld defects or excess weld reinforcement before rewelding. In the latter case, fine abrasives should be used again.
Oil and grease
Organic materials such as oil, grease, and even fingermarks can be a source of localized corrosion. Because these substances act as barriers, they interfere with chemical and electrochemical cleanup and must be thoroughly removed. ASTMA 380 has a simple WATER BREAK test to detect organic contaminants. In the test, water is poured from the top of a vertical surface, and the wafer separates along with the organic material as it flows downward. Flux and/or acid chemical cleaners can remove grease and grease stains.
Residual adhesive
When the tape and protective paper are removed, part of the adhesive will always remain on the stainless steel surface. If the adhesive has not hardened, it can be removed with an organic flux. However, when exposed to light and/or air, the adhesives harden and form a source of corrosion for crevice corrosion. Mechanical cleaning with fine abrasives is then required.
Paint, chalk, and marker marks
The effects of these pollutants are similar to those of oils and fats. It is recommended to wash with a clean brush and clean water or alkaline cleaner. High-pressure water or steam flushing can also be used.
So the cleaning of the stainless steel chain still needs to be determined by the situation, but stainless steel chain sizes have no effect on the cleaning method, but we need to pay attention to the small stainless steel chain in the cleaning process may need to be more detailed.
